Day -1
The trip to Jaipur will begin in the wee hours of the morning when you will be picked up by a chauffeur driven car. You will be driven to Jaipur which is popularly known as the “Pink City” of India. The splendor and grandiosity of the city of Jaipur gives you an idea of the valor and the grandness that was exhibited in Jaipur during the Rajput era. This beautiful capital city of Rajasthan came into existence in the year of 1728 when the then ruler of Amber, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II spotted this city.
A distinctive feature of this city are the nine rectangular sectors which denote the nine divisions of the universe.
We begin our tour of exploring Jaipur by visiting JalMahal. This monument is also known as the “Water Palace” as “Jal” in Hindi means water. The surrounding Aravalli hills provide a breathtaking view. This site is often thronged by couples as it is admired as a romantic getaway.
Be mesmerized by the intriguing architecture that is made of great looking red sandstone.
You should also definitely catch a glimpse of the reflection of this beautiful palace on the water of the Man Sagar Lake. This is a spectacular view that you can see in Jaipur. We then travel to one of the best hotels in Jaipur where you can check in and have lunch. After a quick afternoon nap or relaxation time we proceed towards the Birla Temple in the evening.
One of the famous fortresses of Jaipur is the MotiDoongri palace that has been standing tall from the erstwhile era. It is on the foothills of this palace that one can spot the beautiful Birla Temple or Lakshmi Narayan Temple. The marvelous marble designs and the architecture of the temple will leave you mesmerized. The inner walls of the temple is embellished with grand paintings of mythological episodes. Inside the temple you will also find a number of idols and statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
We will then travel back to the hotel where you can have dinner. After dinner you can have a great sleep in the luxury of the hotel so that we can embark on an exciting tour of Jaipur, the following day.
Day - 2
The second day of our tour commences, immediately after you are done with the breakfast in the hotel. We will first enjoy a beautiful Elephant ride which will lead us to the Amber fort. This beautiful fort is made of white and red sandstone. The fort is rich in architecture as it has a plethora of intricate designs in the form of mosaics, engravings, carvings, paintings, murals, frescoes and mirror works.
We then proceed to what is called the “Palace of Winds” or the “HawaMahal”. “Hawa” in Hindi means “Wind”. The palace has the uncommon design of a crown of the Hindu Lord Krishna and was designed by Lal Chand Ustad. The beehive structure is an exclusive attraction of this 5 storied building. The pink sandstone used in the construction of his grand structure makes it more attractive. Other elements to look out for are the 953 small windows orjharokhas as called in Hindi. It is these beautifully designed windows that ensure that there is an inflow of the breeze continuously into the palace.
This will be followed by a visit to the CityPalace. Thisglorious palace is a flawlessimage of style, historical painting and dexterity. This palace has an extended complex which houses other palaces like the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces. It is within the premises of this complex that one can find a museum which displays an affluent conglomeration of royal lineage in the form of paintings, weaponry, historical costumes etc.
We then conclude our Jaipur trip and drive back to the hotel to retire for the night.
